Saturday 9 November 2019 from 5 pm – including soup kitchen!
Ungdomshuset (Dødsmaskinen), Kbh NV.
Talk by Alexander Vasudevan, Oxford University.
This is the third part of the course Another City at People’s University, an independent initiative that seeks to promote radical changes of society through democratic knowledge sharing, critical reflections and creative actions.
The course ‘Another city’ seeks to strengthen the resistance and develop alternatives to developer-driven and technocratically controlled urban development by exploring possibilities for spontaneous and self-organized forms of urbanization, based on the theory of development urbanism.
Alexander Vasudevan is Associate Professor in Human Geography, Oxford University, and author of The Autonomous City: A History of Urban Squatting (2017) and Metropolitan Preoccupations: The Spatial Politics of Squatting in Berlin (2015).
The course is free.
